A secret trick from Kieran Drew to 10x your stories and value tweets with platitudes |
Welcome to Tatsuki's Sunday Snack, a newsletter where I share snacks so tasty you won't want to eat anything else. It's the 16th of May, and I'm quietly going about my day. One of my students Bryan Searson (f**kin legend by the way) hits it large with the growth tweets:
So... I share my student's win because I'm happy for him. Hate growth tweets all you want. But they are a good skill to master early on. And play a key part in a good content strategy. But then this geeza called Boomer Bryan stumbl through the door. Never spoken to the guy in my life. But he says:
I was shocked. And so were others. Why is this dude trying to sell his coaching by throwing shade at coaching programmes he knows nothing about? But anyway... The point of the story is not that one Bryan is brilliant and the other is a boomer. It's that most people hate on platitude tweets. People don't realise they can use them to make ALL their other tweets AND threads 10x better. Yes 10x. And no I don't have scientific source to back that up... But this newsletter is dedicated to explaining how you can do it. Time to snack up you snackerdile. The Power Platitude PunchA platitude is a short sentence or two that creates an emotional reaction in the reader and makes them think: "That's so fkin true." "Finally... someone said it." "Wow. You're right. I never thought of it that way." Essentially... A good platitude strikes a chord that resonates with your reader. Now... I'm not going to go into how to write a platitude, as that's the topic of next weeks Sunday Snack. But I will tell you how to use them to 10x your other content. So... When you write a story or a value tweet. The best way to end them, is with a sexy sticky sentence that wraps up the whole idea. Something like, "I love you babe. You look so beautiful covered in peanut butter." Ok only kidding. Wrong kinda sexy sentence. This is more like it: So... Use your platitude tweets to figure out which sentences resonate with your audience. Then... Write stories and value tweets around those platitudes. Notice how: "Stop trying to find your voice. Start using the one you have." And... "If you're not happy on the journey, don't expect to be happy at the destination." Are just platitudes. But at the end of value/story tweets. This platitude did ok yesterday:
So... I will find and write a story that can be finished off with this sentence. And when it comes to threads.... Tie in sticky sentences into the body tweets of a thread to induce those little dopamine hits and keep your reader engaged. It's that simple. Now maybe 10x was a bit far... but I was so blown away when I discovered this, that I was over-excited to share this with you. And if you're wondering... My current daily tweet strategy is:

Let's snack in: Q1: What's been the toughest moment in your career? A: The moment I worked my socks off and saw no results. Money wasn't coming in and I felt immense pressure. I needed to make it work. But this all changed when I finally invested my last pennies in a mentor. Q2: What's the #1 lesson you've learned about a topic you're studying? A: The #1 lesson is that you need to have fun. If you can't have big-belly laughs with your peers, you need to change direction. It may sound cliche... But you need to love what you're doing. Q3 What book/course/resource has boosted your journey the most? Dot.com secrets changed my life (by Russel Brunson.) I followed the book to the letter. And the result was a $10M in sales and a 2 comma club X award (fkin huge award). Every entrepreneur should read it and follow it to the letter. You'll have similar results as mine.

Yesterday I was lucky enough to call a paid ads guy at a Fortune 100 company. His small team spends $100,000,000+ a year on ads. He isn't legally allowed to talk with me about all this stuff, so he stayed anonymous. “Sell every day in every single email.” If you're growing your list with social media content, this advice is broken. Let me explain why… This advice is pushed by the world’s greatest email marketers for good reason. Emails are free to send, so if you want to make maximum money... Sell your offer in emails everyday right? Right?? Well... This works fine if you don't just use social media to grow your list, i.e. paid ads, list swaps, SEO blogs, etc. Over time... Everyone who doesn’t want to...
A follower recently asked me: “How do I get client experience as a complete beginner.” I was a complete beginner last year AND have just taken over paid ad campaigns for a client as a complete beginner. So I know I have the answer you’re looking for. The secret lies in a principle taught to me in a small private masterclass with Ben Settle, the King of email of marketing. I call it: “Turn trash, into cash.” Let me explain… I’m a paid ads noob. I have just as much experience pole dancing as I...
